How to install Optifine

OptiFine allows Minecraft to run shaders.

Before you begin:

• install Minecraft
• install Java

Important: The Optifine version must match the Minecraft version you intend to use

1. Visit optifine.net and download the latest version that matches the Minecraft version you intend to use.
2. Close both Minecraft and its launcher (if running).
3. Launch the file you just downloaded (Java has to be installed in order to do that), change the Minecraft directory (if needed) and click Install.
4. Once you see the message OptiFine is successfully installed, click OK.

To use the version of the game with Optifine installed, select it from the version menu in the launcher.
